SITA Core Room Stabilization and Standardization at London Heathrow – London, UK

In 2010, SITA and the British Airport Authority (BAA) had multiple service improvement initiatives underway. These initiatives included network upgrades as well as stabilization and standardization of the SITA / BAA Network Core Rooms.

SITA engaged Inspired Networks to perform an Audit and Analysis on all SITA/BAA Core Rooms at London Heathrow (LHR). The Core Rooms spanned the entire LHR campus including passenger terminals 1, 3, 4, Cargo, and the D’Albiac House.

When completed, the Audit and Analysis produced a number of recommendations based on both internal and external business and operational requirements from SITA and the BAA. New and updated standards from both SITA and the BAA, along with industry best practices were applied to the Core rooms, thereby streamlining service and support and improving performance.

The recommendations were accepted and implemented by SITA and the BAA in 2011.
